How truckers may come to the rescue for Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Postmates and Instacart

A California court ruled Wednesday in favor of keeping big-rig truck drivers as independent contractors versus turning them into company employees, a decision that could bode well for Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Postmates and Instacart in their fight against the newly enacted state gig worker law AB 5.

The Los Angeles County Superior Court decision in the state of California vs. Cal Cartage Transportation Express case upheld the Federal Aviation Administration Authorization Act (FAAAA) of 1994.
